It's destiny? Not according to Piniella
Lou Piniella is from the old school, so when he was asked if his Cubs might be a team of destiny, he went back to his ABC's: "I don't believe in destiny. I believe in good pitching and good defense and timely hitting. You do enough of that, you create your own destiny."
Wood says he can handle the workload
It was another first in Kerry Wood's second life as a baseball player. On Thursday, he finished his fourth straight game, which shows he has recovered from blisters and can handle the workload that may be demanded of a closer in the postseason.
