Hales' Humphrey makes U.S. team
Hales Franciscan graduate Matt Humphrey has made the 12-member USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team after participating in trials and a training camp in Washington.
The 6-foot-5-inch guard, who has signed with Oregon, will compete in the 2008 FIBA Americas U18 Championship Monday-July 18 in Argentina.
"It's an honor to be able to play for your country, especially at a very young age," Humphrey said Tuesday. "I think the whole experience will be fun, but at the same time we have to take care of business."
